Island Governor Jonathan Johnson addresses the community

As our community mourns the loss of Sheldon Johnson with heavy hearts, Island Governor Jonathan Johnson extends his condolences to family, friends, and colleagues and reminds us during this difficult time to support each other.

During our grief, we are sometimes met with overwhelming emotions. As a small, close-knit community, many of us share these emotions and it is good to remember that we are there for each other.

The Department of Community Development and Culture extends its full support and assistance to all our residents, with our team of social workers. They are available and ready to assist, even if you simply need a listening ear during this tragedy.

You can reach out to the team via any of these numbers: 416-4462, 416-7925, 416-5842, and 416-5850.

We encourage our residents to reach out and seek support.

  1. May Almighty GOD help Us All and Divine Providence Guide Us All!!! There is No Excuse for Violence! No one has the Right to take someone’s life. I feel Bad that This horrific act of murder was perpetrated on Sheldon Johnson by his Shooter! I can not imaginé the pain of his love ones!!! You reap what You Sowe and only GOD Knows!!! I was told by Some Saba People over the phone that previously the Shooter had a fight with Sheldon and his Friends and was ganged bang and The Shooters head Was bossed Open and since than he, the Shooter was seeking Revenge for this? There is No Excuse for that type of Revenge by the Shooter: Violence brings more Violence!!! There is also No place for Violence of a Group of people fighting against one person, This is call taking Advantage, Might does not make Right!!! When I was in St. Maarten I Was also a Victim of gang Violence by 4 Men and my head Was also chopped Open a little bit by a bear bottle!!! My family The Flanders in St. Maarten took Revenge for me and they broke One of the Guys Arms, They Broke his Arm, They Bossed his head but thank GOD they did not Kill them! When I saw The guy his whole body was in a cast. The guy accused me I think, mistakingly Of having a relationship with his girlfriend! Thats why I Say like Bob Marley Every little Action has a Re- action! You reap what You Sowe and only GOD Knows!!!
