A short documentary by the UNESCO Saba Intangible Cultural Heritage working group on Saban culture and responses to natural disasters that have affected the island of Saba, Caribbean Netherlands.
This documentary was funded by UNESCO, and produced by Chizzilala Productions.

1955 – Royal visit to Saba

In 1955 HM Queen Juliana and her husband HRH Prince Bernhard visited the islands of the Dutch Caribbean.

In the archives of the Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid we found this gem. 3 minutes of full colour film on their visit to Saba.

1958 – Government schooner “Blue Peter” visits Saba

In 1958 Dutch filmmaker John Fernhout made a documentary of the Windward islands, while travelling on the government schooner the “Blue Peter”.
